Eulogies Flow for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.
More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the duo.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt ready to share openly about his deep grief.
"Adequate time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, adding that he could not remember "any day without mirth".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes wrote.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a separate piece, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed
Recently, a Los Angeles judge decided to block the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" associated with the probe.
The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a official listing noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
