FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
