The relatives of teens unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a bar in a Swiss alpine town are facing an agonising period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for any details about their loved ones online.

The inferno ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Verified video depict the roof structure igniting as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have stated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which killed numerous partygoers and injured another over a hundred. A spokesperson stated on Friday that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process ongoing to locate the remaining few.

In the meantime, loved ones have been posting on online platforms to plead for clues about their friends who were at the bar that fateful night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his family.

The resident of a town near the city, told a publication that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's terrible," she told the paper.

She added that some of his companions had been found with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "There are no words; they endured hell."

The Italy's foreign ministry has said that six of its citizens have not been located.
